32 Principles of Design
“Every profession has its unique terminology, its insider language, its lingo.”
If you use the same words and concepts, if you understand their meanings, then not only will you be equipped to hold your own in discussions with artisans you engage, you will also find a new sense of confidence and ability to articulate your desires more precisely, in ways you did not previously attain.
Words are powerful. In fact, words are the very tool of cognition our minds use to conceive, shape, refine and perfect ideas.

That said, if you truly yearn for beautiful spaces to inhabit, then you must first be able to clearly articulate the qualities that these spaces will have. You will need to do so with words. Not only will you need to describe the tangible attributes of the space, but the intangible. Ultimately, what feelings you would like to elicit, experience and enjoy every time you are home?
